Google+ Hangout: Autism Awareness & Acceptance

Alexis Wineman’s Autism Awareness & Acceptance
Google+ Hangout with AbiliytPath
April 29th, 2013 1:00 pm Pacific Time

Do you have Autism? Know someone who does? A family member? A friend? Or simply just curious? We will be hosting a Hangout with a panel of experts to answer  your questions and shed light on Autism! Through understanding, we hope the world will begin to accept Autism. Our panelists include:

Alexis Wineman: Miss Montana: Being a Miss America contestant on the autism spectrum definitely helped bring attention to my platform: “Normal is Just a Dryer Setting: Living with Autism.” But as I reflect upon the year, what’s really left an impact on me is the acceptance and support I encountered and continue to experience. For many of us on the spectrum, that’s what we hope April brings: acceptance.

Trevor Buckley, M.Ed. (Co-Founder, Head of Education) has a background working with kids and families living with autism. Since 2009 Trevor has built a strong working knowledge of the principals and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) through supervising clinical staff and personally implementing successful and effective interventions for children with autism. Trevor received his Master’s in Special Education in 2012 from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and holds a B.A. in Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
