One Time Gifts

One-time support of any amount can be made in your name, your family’s name, or for someone you wish to honor or memorialize. We will send a notification of your tribute based on your preference and the information you provide. Your tax-deductible gift can be made by credit card using our simple online donation form. If you prefer, you can mail your check or credit card donationor drop it off in person at the address below. Monthly Gift

Monthly giving allows you to offer ongoing gifts or fulfill commitments at a comfortable pace. A recurring gift each month helps provide a steady and predictable stream of funds to maintain our services and cuts down on administrative costs. It is an easy, efficient, and affordable way to make your support go further. You may increase, decrease, or cancel your monthly gift at any time.

Matching Gifts

Many companies will double, or even triple, charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, search for your employer’s name:

If you need past gift receipts to apply for a match, please contact our Donor Relations and Database Manager who will email or mail you another copy right away. Some companies will continue to match employee donations that were made several months, even years, after the original gift was made.

Donor-Advised Funds

Stock Gifts

Donors who choose to give appreciated securities may avoid paying capital gains taxes and receive an income tax deduction for the full market value of the donated stock.

For example, if you decide to donate stock you purchased more than one year ago for $1,000, and the shares are now worth $4,000, you would not only get a deduction for the stock’s full current market value, but would also avoid paying 20% tax on the $3,000 gain. As a nonprofit, AbilityPath incurs no capital gains taxes when it sells the securities, so the gift of stock would provide the full $4,000 value.

The donation process can be handled in two steps:

  1. Please complete our Stock Gift Form (below) and email, fax, or mail it to AbilityPath’s Development Team to ensure your gift is processed and acknowledged properly. Completing this step is important to ensure you receive a tax receipt.
  2. Begin your securities transaction through your broker using AbilityPath’s bank and account number below. The following information is also listed on our Stock Gift Form (below).

IRA Donations

IRA owners aged 70 1/2 or older may be able to make a charitable contribution without paying income tax on the transaction. Please consult your tax accountant or financial advisor to understand the specific requirements and potential tax benefits of making charitable contributions through an IRA. AbilityPath’s Tax ID Number is 94-1156502.

IRA Donations by Check

If you have check-writing privileges on your IRA, you can write a check directly from the IRA to AbilityPath. Otherwise, you can contact your financial institution to request the donation be sent from your account. Most often there is a simple form you can complete or you can call your financial institution to request the transfer. Please ask them to include your name on the check so we know who the gift is from.

Vehicle Donations

Thank you for your interest in donating a vehicle to AbilityPath. We work with a third-party who will have a licensed tow company pick up your vehicle at no cost to you. Then you receive a tax-deduction and AbilityPath’s programs benefit!
