Handwriting Readiness

Handwriting readiness is a class facilitated by an occupational therapist as well as a program aide and enrolls up to 6 students.

Classes include:

  • Motor warm-up with games related to that day’s concepts/letters/activities
  • Circle time with direct instruction of that day’s concepts, but with hands-on activities, songs, and interactive materials
  • Art activity connected to that day’s theme/concepts, also as a way to further practice fine motor skills
  • Follow-up work for kids to do at home so parents can see the day’s theme/concepts and incorporate at home
