Betty Ivey Lange Technology Library
The library offers one-on-one therapy sessions, parent education, and group instruction. The lending library includes assistive technology, such as BIGmack switches, adapted toys and iPads with programs augmenting speech and motor skills for children with special needs. Children and their therapists are able to trial augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices allowing parents to observe if their child can benefit from equipment they may be considering.
The Betty Ivey Lange Technology Library, located at our McCarthy Center for Children & Families, was made possible through the generosity of former board member, Eivind G. Lange, in memory of his late wife Betty. Betty Lange was an extraordinary woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was active in many community groups and had much compassion for those less fortunate and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
